Hatchet

I read the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This was a book about a teenage boy who's parents have recently gotten a divorce. After the split, Brian starts putting the pieces together and realizes that his mom was halving an affair. The book stars out with Brian in a two seater airplane. The pilot suffers from a fatal hart attack short after giving Brian a brief flying lesson. Brian is then flying by himself, making several radio transmissions. After a few hours above the Canadian tundra, the engine cuts out and Brian is able to land in a near by lake. He survives the crash but the pilot is not so lucky. The rest of the book tells the stories of Brain surviving on his own. He is faced with many challenges including animals, food supply, making fire, and above all himself. Will Brian make it out? You will have to read Hatchet to find out

I give this book a 8 out of 10 due to some slow points and how Paulsen describes Brain getting sick... Its a little gross. This book is intended for teens and adults above the age 13 in my opinion. (Male and female)
