In this action-packed adventure, 14 year old Alex Rider from England is very smart for his age. He is working with a government agency to help stop a criminal mastermind from getting control of nuclear weapons named General Sarov. Sarov, after losing his country and his family, wants to put an end to the world by taking control of nuclear weapons. Although lacking any romance, this book will put you on the edge of your seat with it's action packed scenes and suspense. This book is recommended for boys that like action books, and like books with a lot of back story.

Temperance Brennan (Tempe for short) is an anthropologist who works in North Carolina and Quebec: the story takes place in Quebec. An anthropologist is someone who works with skeletons. Tempe works for a place where bodies are identified and the cause of death are figured out. But her job there is to figure all these things out when only a skeleton is found. In this book a part of a body is found by some workers so Tempe gets called in because the body part was decomposed beyond recognition and to see if they are human remains. When she gets there she finds they are human but some body parts are mising so she looks for them and finds them scattered in plastic bags all over the forest floor. Later they find another body in the same condition but in a different area of town, and then another. The detective she works with refuses to believe its the work of a serial killer but Tempe thinks it is, so she tries to figure out who is behind all of these murders. As she keeps digging, she finds evidence that her life may be in danger and the life of her friend, but she decides to keep going. As she gets deeper into this case her best friend goes missing and is eventually found dead. So as she figures out this case she is going through the loss of a friend, the fear that this killer is planning to kill her, and family troubles at home in North Carolina where her daughter wants to drop out of school and go off with her boyfriend somewhere.

Halley Cooper and Scarlett Thomas have been best friends since they were little. They just finished their sophomore year in high school and are working at a grocery store called Milton's. While working there, they meet a new employee, Michael Sherwood. Michael and Scarlett start going out soon after they meet. Two weeks before school begins Michael gets into a motorcycle accident and is killed. His family and friends are devastated, especially Scarlett. Michael's family ends up moving to Florida. A couple weeks after the funeral, Scarlett finds out that she is carrying Michael's baby. While this is going on, Halley starts dating Michael's best friend Macon. Macon isn't the greatest guy. He skips school a lot and doesn't tell Halley where he goes half the time. Scarlett doesn't like Macon and her and Halley start to fight and their friendship starts to crumble. Scarlett decides that she is going to keep the baby, but she had to decide if she wants to keep the baby or give it up for adoption.

The only problem is that Brian is a city boy and doesnt like the wilderness. But he will soon have to get used to it when the pilot has a heart attack. you will like this book if you like the outdoors or the wilderness. you will also like this book if you like survival. Another thing is that when you read the book you feel connected or there with the character inside the book. This book is great for teens to adults.
